Team Finn Kids have participated in the Canuck Place Children’s Hospice Adventure Challenge since 2009. One kilometre paddling, 2 km trail riding and 2 km hiking have certainly challenged the kids and given them a fitting opportunity to honour Finn. Whatever the weather (and it has been good and BAD), our 5-10 year olds have remained true to the spirit of run jump bounce dance sing smile love ride and paddle as they have completed the gruelling Challenge each year. The day is has always been great fun with lots of cheering pink supporters and a few gummy bears to keep the kids going. Team Finn was proud to be the second highest kids fundraising team in 2009 and the highest fundraising team in both 2010 and 2011. Can’t wait until next year!
Canuck Place still holds a spot dear in our hearts as the home that opened its doors and took care of our family at our most difficult time. We spent Finn’s last few weeks together at Canuck Place and because of the wonderful care and kindness shown to our family, we could fully devote all of our energy to Finn, Baird and Sarah and the precious time we had left together. Canuck Place is an incredible place with incredible people. Faced with an impossible, unthinkable, and completely unknown situation, the wonderful people at Canuck Place helped us in a way no one else could.
